Tokeh Beach

Tokeh Beach is a crescent of soft white sand on the southern Freetown Peninsula, between River No. 2 and York Beach, backed by palms and rainforest-covered hills. The water is calm and good for swimming, and the beach tends to be quieter than others on the peninsula.
Two beach resorts make it a popular weekend getaway from Freetown. A 20-minute boat trip reaches Tokeh Island, a tiny uninhabited island covered in rainforest.
The drive from Freetown is about 35 km, roughly an hour on the Peninsular Highway depending on traffic. At low tide you can walk over from River No. 2 in about 20 minutes.
