Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, beside the centre's site

Beside Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, above Regent, the government is developing a visitor complex focused on conservation, learning and eco-tourism. Plans include a canopy walkway above the forest, a green park with a greenhouse, an observation tower, a visitor centre, hiking trails and an amphitheatre.

The Tacugama Innovation Centre is planned to house a cinema, library, exhibition spaces and a rooftop cafe. The project is funded through the World Bank-supported Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project, with the canopy walkway supported by UNDP. Check which facilities are open before you go.
