Senehun Ngola

Senehun Ngola is an ancestral Mende chiefdom village in southern Sierra Leone. It was among the villages documented by anthropologist Joseph Opala in his early research on the connection between Sierra Leone and the Gullah Geechee people of the United States.
The community keeps strong traditions of storytelling, naming ceremonies and elder-led governance, which echo the oral traditions preserved on the Sea Islands of South Carolina and Georgia.
