Lumley Beach

Lumley is Freetown's main urban beach, running for several kilometres from Aberdeen at the northern tip of the peninsula to the Lumley River estuary. It is quiet on weekdays and comes alive at weekends, when locals come to swim, jog, exercise and play beach volleyball or football.

Restaurants, bars and beach clubs line the seafront, making it a popular nightlife spot, and there is a small arts and crafts market halfway along. Swimmers are advised not to go in after 5 PM and to stay close to shore.
