Loma Mountains National Park

The Loma Mountains hold the largest area of montane forest in Sierra Leone and include Mount Bintumani, which rises to about 1,948 metres. The forest shelters western chimpanzees and western red colobus, and around 245 bird species have been recorded.

Kabala is the usual base. From there a 4WD vehicle on unpaved roads reaches the trailhead villages of Sinekoro, Sokurala or Yifin. Seek permission from the local chief before hiking, and expect to pay a customary access fee.
