Leicester Peak

Leicester Peak rises about 564 metres above Freetown and is regarded as the best panoramic viewpoint over the capital. From the top you can see the city's rooftops, the forest of the Western Area Peninsula National Park, the Sierra Leone River Estuary, the beaches beyond and the site of the 2017 landslide.

The site has been developed as a tourism viewpoint with support from the World Bank-funded Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project, adding viewing decks, parking, a food outlet, toilets and a vendor area. It was commissioned in 2026.
