Banana Islands

The Banana Islands are a small chain of islands off the southern tip of the Freetown Peninsula, reached by boat from the village of Kent. The main islands of Dublin and Ricketts are linked by a stone causeway.
The islands have a layered history, including a former settlement linked to the era of the slave trade, with old church ruins and remnants still visible. Fishing communities live on the islands today.
Visitors come for snorkelling and swimming in clear water, boat trips, and quiet village stays. Community-run guesthouses make overnight visits possible.
